Test Shot Monster Dolls

Intrigued by Wotan Bill's idea of further female monsters in the Lincoln International style of the Girl Victim posted yesterday, I had a mess around this afternoon.

Here are basic ideas for the Mummy, the Bride and the Daughter/ Queen.

Dolls simply to hand were used for convenience so sizes vary. It would be a Mod Miss in the final thing.

All up in the air and yet to settle in the cauldron.

See what you think. Ideas welcomed.

  1. I like the sexy Mummy! Something that hasn't really been explored. When I was working on Designer toys of my comic character, I made a sexy Witch version with an eye towards a Halloween set of four with a Frankie, a Wolfie and a Mummy! Like your efforts, I was going to have the bandages showing a bit of skin, but unlike any depictions I've seen, I'd have Shabtis (look it up!) poking out of the bandages.
As it is, I decided that whole toys thing was distracting me from my long desired puppet film.
As a consequence I'm now working hard on my character as a puppet. I'm working on her costumes at the moment and my film colleague is building a 1/3 scale Spitfire cockpit to film her in!

    1. Thanks Looey, good luck with your puppetry, the Spitfire cockpit sounds amazing! I looked uo Shabtis; very interesting little figures for the after-life! They'd make a great accessory!

A very creepy looking bunch of ladies. They certainly need to proceed beyond the rough draft stage. Possibly a Witch, with black cat and broomstick ?

    1. Good idea Paul, its all in the mix at the moment. Whatever we do it needs to be simple.

  3. That Mummy is hilarious! Looks like a human version of the Andrex Puppy! The Anne Boleyn type figure is good, although I doubt a vamp would carry a crucifix! Bill

    1. All preliminary ideas Bill using dolls I had to hand. The bandages are too thick for a small doll so a cotton ribbon might be better. Yes, Anne Boleyn is a Rexard doll. I could pinch her cloak and stick it on the Mod Miss, yes and minus the crucifix [altho' it'd make a fun accessory!]. Personally I like the mini Bride the most in this trio. Making Mod Miss's beehive will be a challenge and I don't have access to a free professionally trained tailor now I'm back in Blighty. A long term project.

  4. This is a fascinating concept - a whole range of Gothic Horror Dolls, either for the toy market or just a nice monochrome photo essay! SFZ
