NOT MY DING-A-LING!

I saw this beautiful artwork online for the Ding-a-Ling mobile.

I never had a Ding-a-Ling [unlike Chuck Berry!]but thought immediately that rover has the same wheels as my old beloved Firebolt Laser Cannon.

Here's Wotan Bill's as an example.

Did you have a Ding-a-Ling readers?

  1. Never had any Din-A -Ling robots, first I heard of them was in the Starlog Space Toys magazine. Think they were made by Remco and were a series of powered robots, that could power vehicles or larger robots in turn, a bit like Billy Blastoff. Incidentally, that Firebolt is probably Paul V's, as mine is still in bits after rolling off a concrete stairwell in the seventies! Bill

    2. Ah, I see Paul's name now, below the base. It was on one of your old posts Bill. Are you going to fix your own? Remco, Eldon and Mattel has amazingly similar ideas back then! I quite like the whole Ding a Ling thing.

    3. The Firebolt is a major (excuse the pun) thorn in my side, which I have been meaning to fix for years. The central axis which holds the turret to the base has been sheared off, so I need to rebuild the base of the turret somehow. Ive got all the parts, just need the time and the inclination. Bill

    4. Should your time and inclination wither to nothing then you could always send it to Moonbase if you can cope with other hands than your own on it.
