Back to classic catalogues again and the attendant problems of reproducing the fragile paper copies digitally. Initially I was trying to scan them on a flatbed, but it was proving tricky due to the central folds, but I have just found a great new app, called Adobe Scan, which when run from an iPad, automatically detects the size and resolution and creates a pdf version quickly and easily. So it should remove the bottleneck I have experienced with the process.
This is your best post yet. Thank you, it is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI hoped you might enjoy it Paul. Now I have got the scan issue resolved, expect more. Many more. Bill

DeleteGreat post and good quality scans, with only the slightest hint of reflections (curse you glossy paper stock!)
I'll be interested to see what else you've had squirreled away!
I will look forward to them. A couple of the planes - the Grumman F4F Wildcat and the Curtis P-40 Kittyhawk are in British markings, rather than the usual American markings. But the most interesting model is H1925 British Show Jumper horse kit in 1/10th scale. This looks to be a version of the H-1920 Blaze King/H-1921 Golden Palomino/H-1923 American Saddlebred kit.
ReplyDeleteI have looked, but there does not seem to be anything on this kit, so I wonder if it was ever issued ? All I found was a box top on PicClick, but I am not sure if this is genuine.
More Revel to follow soon Paul, so maybe more info available
DeleteWhat a great catalog - such amazing illustrations! The golden age of plastic models - yay! SFZ
ReplyDeleteBill, would it be okay to share this on a couple of fb groups?
