WILL'S SCOTT CARPENTER CAPSULE

Hi Paul. Your action man astronaut may need transportation.

Here's my Space capsule signed by Scott Carpenter, one of the original Mercury 7. He said he’d never seen one before and thought it was a very good model.

  1. Carpenter's Mercury capsule was the Aurora 7.
I feel the kit company missed a trick there, by not making a model of it.

    1. I met Scott at an Autographica event ,I think in Coventry if I remember correctly about 20 years ago. He was a lovely man , very chatty and engaging. My son James, who was about 6 at the time, had a lovely chat with him . They say never meet your heroes but meeting Scott Carpenter was a real treat for us . A lovely man !

  4. Doesn't get any better than an astronaut signature on the box.

  5. Will - can you measure the diameter and length of the capsule? Me and Woodsy have been arguing about the size of it! Bill

    1. Hi Bill. It’s 13” long with a base diameter of 9” . Who won the argument?
