William's LEM Sealab Explorer

Hi, I purchased one of these Sealab aquarium items today at a thrift store. I came across your website mentioning them.

It doesn't appear to have been removed from the box as it looks tied down inside. The box says 1971. There is still plastic around the box as well.

Can anyone tell me anything more about it?

Thanks!
William B.

  1. My family had a couple of aquariums in the 60s and 70s and I remember seeing this in the aquarium store in the early 70s.
I thought it was weird having a moon lander underwater at the time.

    1. I suppose they renamed the LEM to Sealab for that reason Anon.

  2. Today I would love to have one today. Penn Plax is still around and I would guess that this is quite rare. Good find.
