Shipley Shuffle

Back on childminding detail, we get Tuesdays to ourselves before school pick-ups. Today we re-visited Shipley for a shifty round the charity shops.

Stuff I saw:

Various unknown figures sold as a punnet.

Vintage badges as a lot and Dr. Who annuals, £6 each. Is that good?

Old and new. No idea what the tiny white figures are.

Turtles and wrestlers. Very dear I thought.

£20. What is it?

Lone Star train set items. £70 the bundle.

Jigsaw cover. Sweets of the Sixties. Yum-mee! Which was your favourite?

Modern plastic vehicles. No idea what from. You?

My only purchase, a Transformer each for Junior and me. £3 each.

Gen1 1980's Galvatron for me - missing it's laser unit and not working - and modern Transformer for the boy. No idea where the batteries go on this. You readers?

Anything here you would have got?

  1. The '£20. What is it?' is the U-Wing from the Star Wars Rogue One movie. Toy by Hasbro.

  2. Plastic cats look like TMNT or similar. £20 is way too much for the U Wing

  3. Lone star trains aren't bad for 70, very rare to see boxed and could be the motorised version too. Bill

The Lone Star boxes do say Treble-O-Lectric, so they are the motorised versions. The Lone Star OOO, or Treble-O, was 1/152nd scale - half of OO (1/76th). That is 2mm to the foot, or very close to modern N scale.

  5. Back in my home town again, eh Woodsy. You just can't keep away.
Don't remember any charity shops there, as a kid and teenager.
Are they in the market square, or in the indoor market, under Shipley's famous retro 1960s clock tower ?

    1. Ha ha, yep, Shipley is a charity shop Mecca Mish. About 8 of them, around the Market Square and a few outliers too. Always fun. The town Centre looks like it may have seen better days but I always enjoy our visits. No market cafe breakfast this time though. The clock tower is listed!
