Red Hat Man

I received this card and Sangria on Father's day. Our daughter's family had just got back from Majorca.

As soon as I saw the red hat I thought .... Action Man!

Avoiding it's unpleasant Mateodor roots I wondered what else Action Man could use a red hat for?

A Canadian Mountie? This is a Little Big Man Mountie in this group shot.

Or A Mexican Caballero like this Aurora kit?

Anyone got any pictures of red hat Action Man or figures?

    1. I first saw it in Rick Polizzis Classic Plastic book, well worth getting SF.

  2. Just now cleaning up at my club after a graduation party I found an empty gift box with a mortarboard hat that would fit Action Man, Gi Joe to us Yanks, perfectly. I have to learn to send pictures.

Aurora had a series called Guys and Gals of All Nations, which were only available from 1957 to 1959. The Mexican Caballero and Senorita kits were the last two issued, in 1959. There were pairs of male and female figures - Dutch, American Indian, Chinese, Scotch, and Mexican. They were available as single kits, or two-figure Gift Sets. This is from Aurora Model Kits by Thomas Graham, which is a really great book, packed with information. The kits just did not sell.
