  3. Ah interesting. Ta. A Saracen. It's got Chinese writing on it, which is odd.

    1. No, but the Hong Kong Police did! This one must have been repatriated by an Alvis fan.

  7. There are models on the internet with the same markings but I couldn't find any in English.

  8. I had the Airfix 1/32 Saracen powered model. I ended up modifying it into a moon vehicle for my Major Matt Mason!
A few slabs of balsa wood for the new hull and a vacuum formed Easter Egg package for the cabin bubble!

    Thanks for the memories, Moonbase!

The Saracen is an Armoured Personnel Carrier rather than an armoured car. It had the same chassis as the Saladin armoured car. According to Wikipedia the Royal Hong Kong Police Force had 14 Saracens, delivered in 1970, and operated until 1988.

    1. Great sleuthing Paul. Looks like one of those 14 Saracens is in the Yorkshire Dales and possibly for sale!

    2. no cow barns for sale though ? Whats the moggy magic book like ?

    3. No, no cow barns for sale. They look perfect in the Dales. Thousands of them. Moggy Magic was left in the van in exchange for A Birthday Treat by Rich Rush fan story, like Lord of the Flies.
