What a hoot! Star Wars Episode 4 auditions! Over an hour of nervous readings with youthful wannabees like Kurt Russell no less and less-well known actors like William Katt, who went on to star in the cult horror movie House in 1985. Cindy Williams was already known as Shirley in the hit TV show Happy Days and Robby Benson, who I personally don't know at all.
Did George pick the right actors?
William Katt starred in the TV series The Greatest American Hero. He was a school teacher who was given a suit by aliens, which gave him super powers - but he lost the instruction book. The characters of Laverne and Shirley first appeared on Happy Days, but had their own series.
ReplyDeleteNever seen that show Paul, Greatest American Hero, but I know there are toys connected with it. Sounds a bit Shazamy. I remember Katt from the great House horror flick of the eighties.
