I've always liked pencil sharpeners.
A popular thing with kids, many sharpeners are novelties.
Space sharpeners have appeared on MC before and other sites too like this one, Sharpenking - I love the LEM at the end of its page.
Checking for more sharpeners around the world here's a nifty gallery. Which do you like?
Have you got any sharpeners? Pictures welcomed!
Globes and more globes. They look so damn cool!
A whole landscape with a plane and a train!
Metallic Shuttle
Not sure what happens here!
Now that's cool!
I like the little covered wagon, it reminds me of my Hot Wheels Zowie!
Popeye gets the point!
I think this is a radio that looks like a camera
Pippi Longstocking on TV!
Now that's a space race TV screen!
Plain but what a name, Dux, makers of the legendary robot Astroman!
My favourite has to be this Spanish Sacapuntas, Count Dracula.
Ouch!
I like the Moon globe best, but the Dracula one is the wittiest.
ReplyDeleteYes that Moon globe is pretty neat. I've never seen one before Mish. The Dracula is fab, talk about a stake through the heart!
DeleteI have the vintage car, the old time fire pump, and possibly the aircraft carrier. The Count Dracula one is a bit gruesome. Most of mine have the faux antique bronze finish.
ReplyDeleteYes, I like those antiques sharpeners Paul and we've covered yours I think here on MC a while back. I saw some Roman soldiers and Trebuchets versions in Cologne, which was a big Roman colony.
DeleteI'm fascinated with toy TV'S. So 60s! I can remember a time before my family had TV and I think everyone considered them special at that time.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any of those tourist peep-show TV'S and they are too expensive to start buying these days.
I have a couple of TV tin robots and a saucy Cutie Honey version, but overall TV'S are lacking in my collection!
Toy TV's are so appealing Looey I agree and I don't have any either. Shame.
DeleteThere is a pencil holder that looks like Julius Caesar...holes in the back of course
ReplyDeletethat's awful!
DeleteThat Ultraman thing looks like a game. The object is to remove the discs one at a time by striking them with the Ultraman tool. I can't read Japanese but that is what it looks like to me.
ReplyDeleteBlimey, sounds like Jenga with a hammer!
DeleteLike the Parker Brothers game Bash.
ReplyDeleteCheers, a new one on me that. Had to look up Bash.
DeleteMy neighbors had a Bash game back in the day. It was fun to hit the disks just right to get them to fly out of the stack one at a time without knocking the rest over.
ReplyDeleteNice to have friendly neighbours. As a kid it was only really friendly on one side of the house and not the other neighbours.
DeleteI was lucky. Grew up in a nice neighborhood. Lots of kids my age around.
