I picked up this roofless plastic car in Germany.
The original should look like this [seen on Ebay]
So in the name of completeness I finagled a new roof out of some old plastic for my own.
A lick of black and away we go!
An unusual toy from the glorious year of 1976 by toy icons IDEAL.
This Mobile Mo is just one of a whole fleet of Micro Mighty Mo's.
Did you ever have one?

Never even heard of them before. That is a very nice job on the roof.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul. Yep, the line is new to me as well. The slow power engine harks back to Mighty Mo, which some MC readers may have had in the Sixties. I think there was a large tank toy.
DeleteThere was a Jeep that I let GIJoe,Big Jim,and Action Jackson take for a joy ride or two in. Great toy, virtually indestructible
DeleteAnother great save Woodsy, but it's the first I've heard of them. Your efforts have reminded me of something: there's been a toy train challenge floating around YouTube the last couple of months called #savethejunkchallenge in which folks are encouraged to show their 'trash-to-treasure' saves. You could have a whole series of videos on the topic!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Sounds good Ed! I once went through a phase of making videos about mostly Project SWORD toys about ten years ago. My monotone voice is enough to put anyone to sleep!
DeleteI've been itching to see what you'd do to fix this ever since you first posted it!
ReplyDeleteGreat work!
Thanks Looey. I used the hot water method to bend the front end of the plastic roof. Alas, not hot enough, it cracked during bending!
