ED'S MOON BUGGIES

Woodsy,

Here's the few larger scale buggies I have: TAT Hong Kong T-21 Flip-Over Car in red and silver/gray; Hover (Hong Kong) Space Explorer 1; Marx Moon Grabber

BTW, I did fix that red TAT but never got around to taking photos of it.

  1. Classic buggies there Ed, I must have had one of the Non Fall variety every few months as a kid as the wheels fell off mine too! You might be able to squeeze rubber Lego caterpillar treads on the second white ones wheels, the rubber tends to perish if not stored properly and just crumbles. You often see these on ebay as 'Moonbase Central' brand - I think theres one there now if you do a general google! Bill

    1. Thanx Bill! That was one of the problems when searching these things out: more often than not the rubber tires have gone missing. Either that or they don't work. The T21 in the bottom photo is missing a radar dish as well. Perfection is rarely come upon nowadays when collecting old toys.

    1. Many Thanx! Yes and they're sized to go quite well with any 54mm astronauts

  3. Wunderbar. I wonder if the T21 had TV21 in its sights when the makes released it? There is actually a rare Century 21 Toys version of these, from the Gerry Anderson stable. Nicely boxed too. Its on MC somewhere. Sometimes the wrong toy ends up in the C21 box.

  4. Thanx Woodsy! As these are the only three I have and purchased sporadically over the years, I haven't given much thought as to their backgrounds, history etc. I s'pose it would make for a really nice blog series if I ever got really serious about it.
