ED'S TIN: ANOTHER AIR FORCE ONE

Woodsy and Fellow Moon Baser's,

Here's another Air Force One in my collection.

This is a tin/plastic hybrid and is quite larger than the one previously presented which was made by T.N.

This one comes in at 19" (48.26cm) L x 17 1/4" (43.81cm) wingspan x 7 1/4" (18.41cm) H. It takes two 'D' cell batteries to operate its features which include engine roar, blinking lights, operating landing gear and runway taxiing!

There's no manufacturer's mark on the plane but it does appear in the 1969 Sears Christmas Wishbook.

Another great looking toy, and a real monster - almost as big as the real thing.

  2. Air Force 1? Certainly a rife worthy of LBJ!

    1. in Milspeak: any plane the President is on is referred to as either Air Force 1 or Marine 1. When the President is not onboard, the aircraft is referred to by it's tail number. Back in '69, tail number '26000' would have been the latest and greatest of the special Presidential-use aircraft.

  3. That is one gorgeous tin monster! A beautiful example of the lost art of tin. I bet some lucky kid in '69 had a mini heart attack finding this amazing toy under the Xmas tree! SFZ

    1. Most definitely! I would have died seeing that, except that by 1969 I was already into HO scale model railroading! LOL

    1. I'd love to have a hangar big enough to fit this in. As it is, it's in a permanent holding pattern flying above the train layout :-)

  5. That's a mother of a tin toy.
Never into planes or tin, but, my word, that's a thing of beauty.
    Sometimes, bigger is better.

    1. It is a thing of beauty Mish for sure! Sometimes I'll see a toy out in the wild and think "Man that is sooo cool. Too bad I'm not into that stuff or I'd buy one."
