Topo Gigio was a real phenomenon, wasn’t he? I recall seeing him “guest star” on the Ed Sullivan show for several years. There was even a feature film, “The Magic World of Topo Gigio”, (1965), now considered lost. I did not know he had his own TV show? SFZ
Wow, a lost film! I didn't know that SF. I was never a big Topo fan as a kid. My interest came as a collector interested in Century 21 Toys. This drew me to the handful of Topo items the company released, especially the three vehicles, the dressable doll and the books like this of Bernards. The three vehicles are rare and dear nowadays. I have one of them courtesy of Bill, which I restored and I also have the dressable figure ad well, neither of them boxed alas.

DeletePrior to discovering Moonbase Central, I had never heard of Topo Gigio, so I assume he was not a big hit in NZ ?
