MANTA BANTER

As a kid I adored Manta Rays. It was part of that whole 007 skin diver frogman craze I think, mixed in with some Jacques Cousteau! Oh, how I loved his TV show!

Anyways, here's some footage of a Manta. Not by me! By New Atlantis WILD. Do you like Rays?

Underwater flying saucers. I also watched Jacques Cousteau. Revell did a couple of kits of his ship and Catalina flying boat.

    1. A great description Paul. I don't recall the Catalina.

  2. Mantas are NEAT creatures.

About 15 years ago (?) I went with my folks and my wife to Hawaii on my Honeymoon.
One night we went on a Manta Dive. (Sadly, my wife wasn't SCUBA qualified so she couldn't go.)

They tied a bunch of dive lanterns together on the bottom so they were shining upwards.
This attracts the plankton, and the plankton attract the Mantas. They were swimming all around us to within feet of us. All over

    It was really neat!

(I think that was the last time I went diving. Great way to end it. :)
