ED'S MARX TOYS 1975 CATALOGUE

Woodsy,

Here's another general toy catalog. I have a ton of toy train catalogs, but I don't really want to spend every day for the rest of the year sending e-mails! 😁 That being said I may still have one or two general catalogs to send your way. Enjoy!

  1. Amazing! What a rare look into what retailers and distributors saw when deciding what to order. It was slightly sad to see that there were no space toys listed, but this was way after the Apollo fad had gone away. But I would have died and gone to heaven to get that Comanche Pass Playset - wow! 2. The TV Tennis looks unusual.
Was it the TV 'computer ' game Pong, by an other name, or was it a 'fake' electronic game, somehow added onto the front of your TV, but done with a practical light bulb and some wires and magnetic trickery ?

  3. Great post! That HAS to be Jack Davis cartoon art on the cover!

  4. Yep, looks like Jack Davis I agree. I had Jacks brilliant You'll Die Laughing cards. Fab catalogue Ed! Love that Safari set, a new one on me. And those Super Hero figures are just fantastic!

  5. Def Jack Davis illustrations! And those two “computer games” in 1975 are wild! Electro-Hockey! I wonder if they were full-out early computer games, or some sort of weird TV-set thingie? SFZ
