ED'S ELDON EXTRAVAGANZA

Woodsy,

Here's a catalog that came with on of my toy Eldon airplanes some years back. It dates to about 1956 and when folded, is about the size of an index card.

  1. Superb Ed! I love Eldon's plasticcy toys and will be forever grateful for their Billy Blastoff line, one of my fave toys as a Sixties kid. It was released by Scalecraft in the UK but Eldon was allover the packaging and toys! I had to chuckle when I saw the red tools at the end of this catalogue, with the pick-up truck. I thought it was some kid who'd written GOT! ha ha.

    1. Thanx Woodsy! Oh, and BTW, you see that large Cargo Plane (about seven pages from the top)? I just got one of those a few weeks ago. I already had the vehicles and ramp but until now, that big red, and blue plane eluded me.

    1. After rifling through the hoard, I noticed I have four of them. Two are complete, one is missing the missiles, and the other is a parts donor.

  3. Beautiful! What an amazing line of toys. I had forgotten Eldon, somehow, but they made some terrific vehicles. The fire engines and the military armor are my favorites. SFZ

  4. I mostly remember Eldon from my childhood by their 1/32 slot car race sets. I had gotten a beginner's set and added on to it over a couple of years. What fun! I did have their Super Sabre plane in silver as well.

    1. I recall Eldon as having released a Fireball XL5 playset? Or was that another company? I never had it, but a neighbor did, and I was insanely jealous! SFZ

  5. Fantastic catalogue, Ed. They made some very desirable toys. Difficult to pick a favourite from this fab selection.

What a great collection of toys. Eldon also dabbled in kits, but were never a major name in the field.
