Just heard that Michael Jayston best known to classic Doctor Who fans as the Valeyard, and UFO fans as Russell Stone in the episode, The Sound of Silence has passed away.
The prolific actor also played James Bond 007 on radio, and featured in one of the segments in the portmanteau horror film, Tales that Witness Madness.
Our sincere condolences to his family and friends.

ReplyDeleteI remember, he was one of those actors who was in loads of TV dramas in the late 60s and 70s and his smooth 'posh' voice graced many a TV advert. He also starred in his own spy drama, 'Quiller', which I know I watched, but can't remember much about. I do recall the theme tune, which was quite loud and pacey, as I bought the vinyl single of it.
