AHOY! SAILOR BUOY!

Ahoy mateys! I picked up this lovely little flat boat on Castleford's Thursday Market a while back, part of a job lot of small toy bits.

I had no idea what it was. The base gave some clues.

Some silver surfing later and voila!

Its the yacht off an obscure Tri-ang toy called Sailor Buoy!

This set, pictured is one seen on Ebay, was basically a table yacht blown around with a hair dryer! I wonder if it caught on with little landlubbers?

You can see it in action on You Tube with Phil'sWorkBench!

What do you think?

Did you have a Sailor Buoy!?

That is a great piece of detective work. What a strange toy - I have never seen anything like it before. The video showing it in action was great too. It seems the sets came in different colour combinations. I can not imagine there would be many still around, especially boxed.

    1. Thanks Paul. It was fun tracking it down. Can't imagine many survived I agree.
