Haven't bought anything for myself for ages, but I got these 2 rev rod cars with the finish gate and ramp to go with my 2 sets recently.
Think this is nearly the UK range , just missing the yellow 6 wheel buggy I think.

What an amazing find Will. They look perfect those boxed Revrods. Are they an auction lot? I confuse Revrods with SSP Racers, are they related ... or even the same? This summer I restored the 6 wheel buggy you have missing. Great looking toy!
ReplyDeleteThey are Kenner SSP toys, rebranded by Denys Fisher for the UK market. I recall getting the beautiful lime green Eliminator for xmas around 1973 and have since found the blue and yelllow ones loose and a red german version of the blue one, with the turbines facing backwards! Bill
ReplyDeleteI had completely forgotten these toys, but I had at least one, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteThink it was the green one, or maybe two in a set. They were great and quite fast, as I now recall.
I have many fine memories of the American version of these known as SSP.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I loved these things as a kid... even if, in action, they didn't live up to the TV ads. Seems like there were lots of fun designs here under the SSP labeling.
