Some old photos of my big motorised Imai Zero X kit. I always think of it as the middle ground between the Aoshima die cast model, and the Century 21 toy.
That model is utterly gorgeous! That was a “Holy Grail” for me for many years, after I learned that a pal in Canada managed to snag the Paramount issue of the “Mars Explorer.” But seeing it “on set” brings back such fond memories. I’m sure it’s not 100% accurate, but who cares - it’s a thing of beauty. Thanks for sharing! SFZ
It makes a bold attempt to be accurate but it's really more of a toy, Zigg. The buildings are supposed to be 1/144 scale which is actually bigger than I wanted. Only the brown and cream office block is a proper kit. The No.1 Hangar building is scratch built to suit the aoshima Zero X. The rest are just card mock ups to look a bit like what was used originally, although,as I say, they are really too big at 1/144 scale.

ReplyDeletePS: what scale are those office buildings in the background? HO? N? They look vaguely familiar. What a great set! SFZ
