DYNAMITE! MY JUICED-UP DRAGSTER

I adored this Speed King Cougar Dragster as a kid so it was a no-brainer grabbing this write-off at the local boot sale.

Missing its engine and lots of colour, it was in a sorry state.

I fenagled a new engine out of bits and gave it the sharpie treatment on those bald patches. Now it's got a purple marbled look!

I chromed up the engine and the fenders.

I tried PVA as a glaze on the roof, which worked well. I then tried Modge Podge as a glaze and wish I'd stuck to PVA for my nice sheen.

Not perfect but still dynamite!

What do you think readers?

Just claim it is a psychedelic 1960s model - it looks the part.

    1. I had some flower power cars back then Paul. Would love to have them again.

  2. You're learning all the time in your restoration adventures! Colour matching is one of the hardest tasks (as I learnt with touching up my Monkeemobiles) Sometimes you have to call it a day and move on...

    1. Wise words Looey. I overegged my Modge Podge on this one.
