Cawthorne Capers

A day trip to Cawthorne Antiques shop today was fun. I didn't get anything but enjoyed the assortment. See what you think.

Lovely stackable tins by Chad Valley.

Stacks of books on model railways.

Old Books, books, books

Hornby O gauge and more

And finally a bizarre item, a painting allegedly done by a Kray twin as a child.

Further on from Cawthorne we saw these Swan boats on a lake. I've never seen swan boats before. Have you?

  1. That Mack Truck Bulldog brings to mind the golden idol in the opening sequence of the Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Swan boats - been peddling one on Vltava river in Prague. Boys on the bank playing ball kicked it into the river, and I recall thinking International Rescue when our Swan Patrol retrieved it!

    1. Ha ha, the golden idol! Oddly enough I watched Temple of Doom yesterday. It was my least fave Jones but it's growing on me Arto!

  2. I used to buy a lot of used books on a regular basis. And I've seen and ridden in swan boats. Can't remember where.

  3. Luv the Hornby O trains Woodsy! The swan boats are quite interesting - don't recall seeing anything like those outside of an amusement park.
