The Day of the Triffids

Talk about day of the triffids. We've come home to find this monster in the garden! Never seen one before.

I google lensed it and it's a highly toxic Caper Spurge!

Have you got a triffid in your garden readers?

  2. We had a huge plant at the side of our front drive that we actually referred to as 'the Triffid' because it grew so large, so fast.
Eventually we got rid of it.
Cost us a fortune to ship in the sea water !

  4. Ahh so that's what they're called - they've been popping up in my garden for the last few summers before dying off as the year progresses (had no idea they were toxic ?!) I quite like the look of them as they're a bit "different" and they have a charming habit of making a loud popping sound when the sun dried out the pods.
