I picked up these little plastic houses the other day in a Caritas - charity - shop. Distinctly Germanic I can see them adding to a train layout or a miniature town perhaps.
Faller is the German brand that springs to mind but I imagine many toy companies made houses like these.
Did you or do you have any plastic buildings?
Had a few town buildings to go with my Britians, and other brands, cowboy figures.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite was the saloon. It had opening doors and you could fold the front open to have bar fights inside.
Ha ha, bar fights with figures. That's classic Mish. Take that! And that! I can see Timpo heads flying across the bar!
DeleteThose are adorable! An offshoot of Faller was Hoffmann, out of Austria, and they sold sets of little villages like the one you have pictured. SFZ
ReplyDeleteFascinating SF! They really are quaint. They could be Hoffman!
DeleteAs a kid I loved miniatures and models. I still have fond memories of a class project where we built a whole village. Craft paper for the landscape, we painted dirt roads and bushes. Buildings made of different sizes of milk cartons. Then we came to class in colonial costumes and made our presentation. The village must've been at least eight feet long! Nowadays I like buildings for my 15mm and 25mm role-playing game miniatures. Sadly I no longer own many, but I have a bunch of PDFs I can print out and build in relatively short time.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of miniatures Baron? Fantasy? Military?
DeleteScience Fiction and Fantasy, but also historical.
DeleteAh, Woodsie! As always you seem to have your finger on my pulse! Having decided to concentrate on my own Thunderbirds style mini film, my mind is at this moment full of Ancient Egyptian housing and how to model it.
ReplyDeleteI switch on my phone for my daily dose of Moonbase goodness and here's a real bunch of tiny houses!
I'm taking notes!
Thunderbirds and Ancient Egypt! Two of my favourite things, what's not to like! Can't wait to hear about your progress on your Thunder shorts.
