THE LAND OF THE RISING TIN

Here’s another rare sighting on Instagram, a tin Japanese hovercraft toy from the 1960s. 

According to the (rough) translation, there is an actual fan inside, and the toy does levitate above the ground! Can you imagine having this as a kid?

    Another great toy. Judging from the figures in the windows, the family car has been replaced by the family hovercraft.

    There is also a military version of this same design. The toy is very light, so it really hovers on a smooth surface.

    I remember having a similar (plastic) toy from Edmund's Scientific which was a science education toy store (Still is, I think...)
