Its Palm Sunday, one week away from the big Easter day. I remember making palm crosses at primary school in the Sixties. We took them home and put them on the mantlepiece. Did you do anything like that readers?
I remember a series of Raffia coasters?H
Yes Hugh! Me too. Raffia. Blimey that takes me back! I remember star shaped mats.
Here in the states, it was often the date of tornado disasters we have around the time of the equinoxes:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1965_Palm_Sunday_tornado_outbreak#/media/File%3APalmsundaytwintornadoes.jpgThe Plains get them laterhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=svQ5jHKBfSU
That's not so good.
I sang in a Church Choir in the 70s & 80s.I remember folks making the crosses out of palm leaves, but I never learned how.
Singing is always good. Making those crosses was to do with a knot and some weaving I seem to recall Scott.
As a child I attended a Methodist chapel. I think these decorative crosses were a bit too 'Catholic' for their tastes, so I don't remember them.
Yes, I guess it could all be a Catholic thing. I was brought up RC.
