KEV'S AIP THUNDERBIRD 2 LAUNCH BAY BUILD

Hi,

Just finished the AIP kit of the Thunderbird 2 launch bay. It needed a lot of scratchbuilt parts adding to it, but I think it came out OK.

It looks great. A vast underground cavern - home to the wonderful Thunderbird 2.

    1. stunning Kev! Thats a lot of Airfix Girder bridge! The lighting really sets it off and gives it added depth! Bill

  3. Thanks. Yep, I had to make a third wall, extend the existing walls, make two alcoves and then construct a roof! Since it is a lot smaller than the original, I used a load of railway footbridge kits for girders!

  4. An excellent build, Kev, and some pretty good photos too. I'm tempted to get one of these kits myself..

  5. Thanks, much appreciated. It's a good kit with a lot of bits (many of which you don't need!), but an awful lot needs to be added.

  6. Very nice Kev, especially your add ons.
Well chosen angles on the shots and good lighting give it a much better sense of scale than the kit should allow.

  7. This is a excellent build Kevin, the photos look as good as anything the Century 21 people built.

They could easily grace the pages of TV21. I think you are a very talented guy.

  12. Thanks. Oddly enough, it is displayed next to my TB1 launch bay! It's almost like I have a plan!
