These are free gifts from Welgar shredded wheat cereal. Presumably they came in the box with the cereal. Does anyone know what date they might be? Will O.
Beautiful set of cut-outs! The cereal companies had a nice selection of cut-outs back in the day, especially their space, Old West, and airplane selections
I was trying to date these by the art style which looks 1950s, but the British jet is an English Electric Lightning, so I'm going for 1960s! Interesting that these cards are die-cut, so like Woodsie, I assume they are inserts, as back of the box art was always cut-it-out-yourself!
What an amazing selection of cardboard cut-out toys. The vintage pistols are especially interesting.
ReplyDeleteIve got a cardboard Moon Rover from Shredded Wheat, dated 1953 Bill

ReplyDeleteOops! I just Googled it and the Lightning first flew in 1954, so I'm going to settle for 50s vintage which suits the ray gun much more too!
