Looking through an old Games & Toys mag the other day, I came across some adverts that might be of interest to MC readers.

That is a great image of the Crescent Thunderbirds Rifle, No.202/S, much clearer than the one we have seen before. We can now identify what real gun the toy is based on. I got it wrong before, that is certainly not a US M16 rifle. It is a standard British Army 7.62mm SLR (Self Loading Rifle, or semi-automatic) of the 1960s, which was based on the Belgian FN FAL (Fusil Automatique Leger, or Light Automatic Rifle).
Now all we need to do is actually find a real example of the Crescent toy.
    Thank you, Will O.

  2. The Tom Smith's crackers had the same set of figures as the Kelloggs cereals, the difference being tha the bases were not inscribed with the name Kelloggs.
