MATCHBOX ALVIS STALWART

Another of my Matchbox toys, this time the Alvis Stalwart with original box, and those familiar BP decals seen on many Matchbox toys.

Here's some photos I've previously published of a couple of plastic toy 'Stollys'.

We had one of those Matchbox Stalwarts! Same colors and stickers too.

The black wheels came off the hubs though.

    1. You see a lot missing their tyres and yellow cover, Scott.

  2. As a kid in the '70s, I had a 1/32 scale Airfix Alvis Stalwart, Scoop. Not a model kit, but pre-built and ready for carpet combat. I always liked the look and design.

    1. I had one of those myself, Tony, they were made from that oily plastic if memory serves.

  3. I bought a plastic friction drive one a few years ago, that I converted into an Anderson style vehicle. It was in military green before I changed it. The chap in the shop who sold it to me said he had a real one for sale if I was interested. I decided that perhaps, I'd better not!

    1. Wow, that would look impressive up the drive, not sure what you'd get to the gallon though.I wonder what happened to it?

  4. Probably still goes further than an electric car!
