I Thought it Was Tai Hing!

A few years aback I posted this page of Tai Hing toys, some of which I have at Moonbase but also some of which we have never seen before or since on the blog.

One of those is the prone soldier lying down with his rifle. Its impossible to guess how big or in what form these soldiers are  - like Airfix or much bigger? - but this one on the Bay recently caught my eye.

I thought I was onto something but I don't think its the same toy. The model numbers are wrong and there's no sign of the Tai Hing logo.

Do you agree?

Ah well, at ease soldier.

Did you get a toy like this one Christmas?

  1. I noticed from the side view of the box what looked like a 'B/O' symbol.
Turns out this is a Chinese toy manufacturer.

There's lot of different designs/brands/brand marks.

    1. Very interesting Hugh. Somewhere there's one like this with a T in a Circle on it.

The boxed Machine Gun Drill figure is armed with a Soviet AK-47 Kalashnikov assault rifle. This is easy to identify due to the curved magazine, and the stepped-back shape of the barrel end. That suggests the figure was made in a Communist country, as a Western figure would be more likely to have a standard Western rifle.
