Did you get most of your toys at Christmas? Or did you get more during the year?
For me Christmas was the number one toy bounty, when I re-stocked the toybox with all the new stuff. It was also the time for a couple of big things like a new bike or a go-kart.
I did get a few things during the course of the year but not the boon I received on December 25th.
Was this your experience readers or not?
Mainly yes, Jr21 toys at Christmas but smaller things like spacex throughout the year.

ReplyDeleteBirthdays were an equal gift fest for me.
There were also occasional other times of year, probably school holidays, which were also a source of more significant individual presents.
My birthday's virtually on Christmas Day Mish so there was little difference between Birthday and Xmas gifts.
DeleteChristmas was the most, but Birthdays was the next and something for Easter. But Christmas 1967 was the biggest one! Zero-X... Need I say more?

DeleteYes Paul, the grown-ups at the time had their Swinging Sixties and Carnaby Street, and so did us kids with Century 21. It was glorious and never to be repeated, no wonder we want to go back there!
