He has the look of a Star Fleet officer as depicted in the Star Trek annuals. Might need a haircut though.

The phaser type he is firing is cooler than what’s in the package.I seem to remember art of a kid holding what looked like a sea devil blaster…black hemisphere/parabolic dish, but clear feed horn/emitter. In a hospital lobby rack circa 1980.
Definitely some Star Trek influence. He's even got a phaser....
