ABANDON SHIP!

This Thunderbird 3 lies abandoned in Hegang in China.

Have you seen any abandoned spaceships?

  1. Dont know if you remember Woodsy, but I sent you pics of a re-purposed Thunderbird 1 in a park in Florida, that I found on holiday there in 2013.
I dont think you put them on the blog. See if you still have them.

  3. I remember in the late 1970s, STARLOG magazine started to run (in the news section at the front of the magazine) little news featurettes on full-size Flash-Gordon-esque 1950s spaceship mockups which had been given away as prizes and which readers were finding, abandoned and somewhat derelict, in various locations... For a while, each issue would feature photos when one would turn up... I have often wondered what happened to these things...

I've also seen photos of the original STAR TREK Galileo Shuttlecraft in someone's front garden, exposed to the elements and gradually falling apart...

    1. Those Starlog mockups sound fascinating! Were they made of metal?

    1. That is so cool! I imagine it was there when there was a big Gerry Anderson exhibition in the 80's? 90's? I think it was called Space City and alas, I never went.
