Well I'm sat watching the launch prep for the Artemis Moon Mission, despite another slight setback earlier this morning, when a leak in the fuel line was identified, things seem to be going ahead. So far the launch window will be around 6pm UK time, or perhaps a little earlier.Even though the space race stalled back in the seventies and things didn't move as quickly as Countdown comic predicted with their give away poster, recent developments with NASA and JPL missions such as New Horizons, Juno, Perseverance and the amazing James Webb Telescope, have given me cause for excitement and anticipation for developments over the next decade or so. I am sincerely hoping I will see man on the Moon twice in one lifetime!
Didn't Von Braun advise against putting people on top of solid rockets?
ReplyDeleteNASA will be looking back at Apollo with envy round about now. C'mon Artemis!
ReplyDeleteThe new NASA can't hold a candle to the old NASA, almost like they were two separate entitles... and they did it all back then with slide rules!
ReplyDeleteBlast…a rollback most likely. People should quit bashing SLS. Starship’s escape tower is where, again?
ReplyDeleteWell, good to see them proceeding with caution. Can’t wait to see new pics of the lunar surface (closer up anyway).
ReplyDeleteThey'll get there soon. Fingers crossed. Pump that fiddly cold fuel in there guys!
