Hi,
Though popular on Moonbase, I never owned any Zeroids as a kid but I was always interested in them.
Seeing Scoop's superb photos of his excellent collection only made me want to get some even more.
Anyway, I'm not in his league for the quality of my collection (or photos for that matter), but I managed recently to get two, non-working examples in quick succession.
I like these little fellas! Do you?

SCORE! Now all you need is a Zintar to go with them! I've always been fascinated with the Zeroids. As a kid, I always felt Zerak the Destroyer was the poor cousin, because unlike the other two, he didn't have a spring powered gripping action to his hands!

ReplyDeleteMine didn't cost a body part! The rock is the display base that comes with the kit of the Lost in Space robot.

ReplyDeleteYep, they're great, trouble is, I need the others now! I saw a life sized Zintar for sale recently.
DeleteI do know the chap who builds the full size radio controlled Zeriods, as he lives fairly close to me, and have visited his workshop. (He's done a fantastic job on the full size Zintar , and is currently building a Zobor) He also builds 'Planet' robots, and the odd Dalek.

DeleteWish I still had my Zerak. It was the only one I had and I think I got it because at the time I thought it was similar to the Robinson's robot in Lost in Space. I loved the plastic container too. which stored the robot and its accessories. I used to lay the container on its back and pretend it was a hanger for my other toys which could take off from inside it.
ReplyDeleteI loved that container too! Mine was Zobor's. I'm sure it had two blue wheels at the back which made it a trailer!

ReplyDeleteI had Zerak as a kid and was lucky enough to get a non working, therefore reasonably priced, one from vintage toy shop Metropolis Toys in Warwick, during a weekend there in 2019.

I've always often wanted to visit Metropolis Toys. Tony did a great review a few years back. I have bought mail order. I think it was for Man from Uncle Counterspy set parts.
