HOT PLASTIC?

I have an oldish plastic red Hot Wheels car. The other day I picked up what I think is another more recent gold one. Is it plastic? What's the score with Hot Wheels and plastic bodies? Are they unusual?

Some Hot Wheels (and Matchbox) models do have plastic bodies, with a metal baseplate. A metal or part-metal body on a plastic base is still more common.

  2. I have a foursome with plastic bodies that came with McDonald Happy Meals, which I always thought accounted for the cheap plastic. They're from the turn of the millennium when the boys were young.
