I do not have a lot of information. According to The World Encyclopaedia of Model Soldiers, the firm dates from about 1960. They made 52-54mm plastic figures. A number were copies of other brands.
It may sound odd, Woodsy, but I'm sure I picked up a variety of small vintage plastic dolls or dolls furniture in a car boot box some years ago. Can't be sure, but the name 'Jean' seems familiar in that context.
As a kid I used to dream about a phone number I could ring up, ask any question and get an instant reply. Now we have it and it provides photos and videos too! The Internet makes this sleuthing so much more effective. I now tend to roll my eyes when someone say "I don't know..." when 30 seconds with Mr Google would stop them looking so uninformed!

ReplyDeleteSounds right Tone. I've found out the firm was Jean Hoefler of West Germany. They made plastic toys including knights.
