TORRO PLASTIC MECCANO

Hi
Here are the Torro Construction Set photos from Trade Me, which I think is NZ-made Plastic Meccano.

Did you get anything like this one Christmas?

  1. I had a lot of plastic Meccano as a kid, wasn't keen on the steel version. The Torro version is different from the standard release in that it has a lot more holes in the girders and original Plastic Meccano just had red plastic wheels with no tyres. A lot of the parts are basically the same, but different colours - spanner was black, bridge trusses red, box units black and we didn't get a screwdriver!

  2. I had some plastic meccano as a kid, which I loved. I can almost feel the torque of the plastic spanner on that yellow nut. I was never really constructional so metal meccano would have been wasted on me. Stickle bricks challenged me!
