PRODUCT ENTERPRISE STEED & MRS PEEL

As we're talking T.V. Avengers, here's a couple of items from Product Enterprise.

The first item dated 2002 is a boxed set of Steed and Mrs Peel dolls inspired by the black & white series which aired from 1965 to 1966.  The set features Emma in black leather jump suit  holding a small revolver, and bowler hatted Steed, dressed in grey, wearing a red button hole , and holding his umbrella.

The set comes with a model bottle of Champagne and two glasses.

The second item dated 2005 is a deluxe talking action figure set, and celebrates the series moving to colour in 1967. It has bowler-hatted  Steed dressed in a dark suit, with his sword stick umbrella by his side, and Mrs Peel in a  (very) tight-fitting blue jump suit. She sports her gold revolver and a fob watch.

The set comes with the Champagne bottle and two glasses, a 'Mrs Peel we're needed' card , plus a tiny copy of 'The Winged Avenger' comic-book, and a P.U.R.R.R. brochure.

"Steed becomes an action figure... Emma's still a doll!"

  1. Those accessories sound great! I love the idea of a Winged Avenger comic -does it come with the origin Frank Bellamy page art?

I once had a 12 inch Connery style James Bond figure that came with a miniature bottle of Smirnoff vodka!

    1. I'm afraid the only Bellamy-like art is on the cover, as I have to confess the 'comic' doesn't actually open up, Lewis.
The Connery Bond figure sounds interesting. I've seen a couple of the more modern Bond figures at collectors marts, one from Dr No and a Moore astronaut from Moonraker if I remember rightly. They looked pretty good, but alas no booze on board!;D

    1. They're pretty good, Woodsy
Apart from the Corgi toy, I don't have a lot of Avengers merchandise, mainly paperbacks, annuals, and the Dell comic, with some relatively modern picture cards.

  3. I've got the second set of Steed and Mrs. Peel - got it in TK Max in Glasgow for a tenner. I've also got three Bond figures - Sean Connery from Dr. No (with the vodka bottle), Connery again from Goldfinger, and Roger Moore from Live & Let Die. Great action figures all.

    1. Ah, I remember the P.E. bargains to be had very briefly at T K Max. I picked up a few items myself, including the SPV. The dolls didn't seem to sell out as fast as the die cast vehicles. I seem to think the Carry on Cleo Kenny Williams figure and Christopher Lee's Dracula were the last to go. I imagine a lot of them probably ended up on eBay.
