One of my favourite Century 21 toys as a collector is this.
The Mobile Bridge and Combat Tank.
A bit of a blog legend really, appearing many many times.
These fab pics were part of an old auction I saw ages ago.
Alas my own toy is nowhere near as good-looking as this example!

Seeing as that's a C21 toy... I wonder if any of them got cannibalised for one of the Supermarionation shows?

Its very much like the Marx tank of the same period.
ReplyDeleteI bought the one on fleabay back in Feb. The square x-section piece that connects the bridge to tank is broken, so I have to find something to replace it (or try extending the piece I've got). Mine does have the wheel that you use to extend the bridge. I also need to take the tank apart as the motor isnt running (one of the screws refuses to budge grrr!).
ReplyDeleteI also still have 5 of the Corgi tanks that me and my brother played with back in the 70's....
I started to repair my own Mobile Tank a while back but the lack of motor inside it - its missing - has stumped me and me meagre skills! Maybe you could send me a picture of the parts you have and share notes!
