I was with a friend when he bought a copy of this book around Christmas of 1972, and I was so captivated by the cover I bought one for myself a few years later, mainly because it reminded me of the by then vanished shop where he'd bought his copy. I still have mine too.
It is a wonderful cover Kid and will forever remind me of Christmas with my parents in the Sixties. My older Brother got a different creepy hardback edited by Algernon Blackwood that Christmas. I'm pleased to say I've managed to pick up copies of both books in the last few years as the originals were binned along with most of our childhoods when the family had to downsize in 1977.
