I always thought Matchbox really had their finger on the pulse with their Thunderbirds line in the early Nineties. The Tracy island was the jewel in the crown I thought. I actually used to find boxed complete ones at car boot sales, which was amazing. I may still have a loose one in the attic. Thanks for sharing Scoop.
Yeah, the matchbox die-cast Thunderbirds were really popular at the time. I wanted a Tracy Island for my son, Danny but they were sold out everywhere. Luckily a friend of mine, who was visiting London at the time, spotted that a new batch had just arrived at Forbidden Planet, and very kindly snapped one up for me in time for Christmas. Remarkably, after Christmas they were everywhere and you couldn't give them away!
