This Astronauta I saw online, supposedly from Peru [the brand name Monoplastic is South African!], looks rather unusual. His large head tops a bronze brown body. He's not particularly attractive as a toy.
In fact he reminds me of Dune's resident nasty Baron Harkonnen. Here's LJN's action figure from 1984.

DeleteMany companies have odd names, with weird spellings. This pretty horrible astronaut is by Momoplastic S.A. (the third letter is M not N), and this is a Peruvian company. They also did Wild West toys, etc. No idea if they were a specialist toy company, or if this was just part of their output. I doubt that clear plastic helmet dome would last long.
