MEN IN BLACK: KOLCHAK?

Reading further into my TV Horror book I was amazed to read something about Kolchak the old American TV series. It says that there was an organisation in it called Men in Black. is that right? Is that where the comic version and the later Will Smith film comes from? Do you know readers?

  1. There are some MiB-ish government agents in the episode about UFOs, 'They Have Been, They Are, They Will Be...'... but the idea of creepy government agents preceeds Kolchak... it's old UFO lore.

IIRC the MiB movies were based on a short-lived comic book series, but the comics were NOT funny... they were dark and gritty.

    1. Thanks Knobgobbler. I've never read any MiB comics but I bet they're good.

  2. Kolchak's one of my TV heroes, Woodsy. I watched the series on DVD a year or two ago, but I don't remember the Men in Black? That doesn't mean they weren't in it though :)

    1. yea Tone, I watched Kolchak off and on a few years back but I don't think I saw it all. Don't recall MiB either. What really stayed in my mind from childhood was the green skinned vampire! Very scary. Oddly enough me and the |Missus have just started watching a series called Night Stalker on ITV Hub. A Manhunt true crime series with Martin Clunes.

  3. I saw the two feature films, Night Stalker and Night Strangler (?) but I dont recall any MiB's in them either. MiB's go right back to the Roswell crash and probably before.
