They Ain't Heavy

Well technically they are - and very well made. Zylemex Metal Men were a range of die-cast figures which spun off from the earlier Takara Microman series. Repackaged and extended for the US market, the figures included Police and Army sets as well as the fabulous space series.

  1. An amazing line of figures. They must be scarce Wote. I've never seen any at car boot sales. I once bought in a huge mixed collection of old toys in the early 90's and there were some die-cast and heavy Eagle Force figures, which remind me a bit of these.

The 3rd picture in reminds me of Dot Matrix from Spaceballs, otherwise a very fine range, the astronaut is great!

I had all 3 as a teen! I still have the two robots in my voluminous robot display!

  4. I had 3 of the astronaut, 1 with the platform in your pic, the other 2 had the pod jet pack that is based off the leg pods on the Space 1999 Eagle. The chest flags quickly cam off and all the visors cracked and split down the middle.
My blue suited robot had the orange armor but the top never would stay closed.
I had the army man as well, came with the raft/oar.

Fun fact, take a look at their hands. They have the same poses as g.i. joe/action man. A C pose for the left and a mostly closed right with the trigger finger extended.
