Patience and perseverance paid off yesterday, as a quick trip to the local supermarket revealed a much delayed update to the Hot Wheels stock. The Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover. I didn't get the earlier Curiosity version, but I have to say it doesn't look much different judging by the photos. However, its a pleasant little model, not big on detail, but captures the feel of the rover, nicely.
Smaller than the average HW car, with no action features apart from a slightly rotatable 'mastcam'.
A fun little model to photograph though.
It is using the same card art as the previous Curiosity releases. There are a few little differences looking at your pics and my still carded Curiosities. The 2012 New Models (2011 copyright on card) version has chrome wheels and black clean tires. The HW City (2013 copyright on card) version has chrome wheels and Martian red soil covered tires.
ReplyDeletePerseverance looks to have black wheels/rims but is otherwise identical.
