Bug Stomper

I've posted about Galoob Action Fleet before, but having recently brought a few models out of storage again, I thought I would look at the Aliens series vehicles a little more closely. There were only three of the models in the series, with the fourth release being the ultra rare Predator Dropship.
These three models are absolutely brilliant, with a great level of detail and considerable playability. Each model has opening hatches, weapons and bays and comes with two figures relative to each vehicle.

The Narcissus comes with a classic Alien and Ripley in her fatigues and even features a tiny catbasket inside for Jones, the hapless ships cat.

Action Fleet found favour with the Star Wars line and branched out briefly with Aliens and Starship Troopers, but seem to have finished around the star wars prequel era of tie ins, which is a great shame.

  1. These look ace Wote. Really well made toys. Its not a toy line I know at all. I had the boxed Aliens Hovertread and AYAX on my old toy stall. Were they the same line?

  2. Nope, different a far inferior line of toys, made by Kenner I think. If Action Fleet had made a Powerloader it would have been really something. Galoob made Micromachines too.

    1. I thought so. The Narcissus reminds me of a Kenner Star Wars Snowspeeder. A bit.

  3. Brings back memories. Action Fleet was a great line - damn you Hasbro for buying Galoob then dropping the line!
I remember seeing the Narcissus and APC in a comic /collectors shop in the UK but decided to get the Action Fleet Starship Troopers TAC fighter and Retrieval ship instead. I went back a week or so later and they'd gone. Happens so many times!
I can still see them on that shelf even now. Still got my TAC fighter and retrieval ship, plus several of the Star Wars ships.

  4. Why "hapless ship cat"? Jones was probably the only one of the Alien saga "people" to die of a (hopefully pacific) old age death... :)
