MORE THOMAS TUDOR ROSE SPACEMEN

Further to the Thomas Spacemen post here in the centre is the one with the spiked helmet. Mine were by Tudor Rose when the moulds were used in England. Several of these figures were based on SF magazine cover art.

  1. The World Encyclopedia of Model Soldiers, by John G. Garratt, 1981, gives the following information on Poplar, hope this is the same company.
Poplar Playthings Ltd, Bridgend, Wales (1958-65). Manufacturers of large-size Romans with chariots, spacemen and Westerners for the juvenile trade.

    1. So Wales eh! and Bridgend no less! I think Bill Everatt over at Main Mission has mentioned Poplar before. They are a fine set of astronauts and I must say I like the metallicised versions a lot. How Wheels Spacemen!
